NVIDIA has announced a series of GeForce-related updates at CES 2026, including the introduction of DLSS 4.5, official availability of G-SYNC Pulsar monitor technology, broader platform availability for GeForce NOW, to name a few. As the company noted ahead of the event, no new GPUs introduced this time around (RTX 50 SUPER was originally expected to launch here before RAM shortage wrecked everyone’s plans), which is a first in five years.

DLSS 4.5: 2nd-Gen Transformer, Dynamic 6x MFG

Arguably the biggest update introduced today is DLSS 4.5, which introduces a second-gen transformer model for Super Resolution upscaling that improves temporal stability, reduces ghosting artifacts, and smooth out edges; the other part of this DLSS update is frame generation, which includes Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and 6x Multi Frame Generation. Dynamic MFG essentially works by targeting a specific framerate and apply appropriate levels of frame generation multiplier (up to 6x), whereas the latter does what it says on the tin for maximum effective framerate.

NVIDIA says the updated Super Resolution is soon available to all RTX GPUs, whereas new MFG features will be available in Spring 2026, exclusively to RTX 50 GPUs, as usual. Users can enable DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution through the NVIDIA app by installing the latest app beta update, with a full public release planned for January 13; a new GeForce Game Ready Driver has also been released to support DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and to add compatibility for 63 new G-SYNC Compatible displays.

G-SYNC Pulsar Monitors

The company also announced the availability of new G-SYNC Pulsar gaming monitors starting January 7. G-SYNC Pulsar works by introducing variable frequency backlight strobing (similar to how CRT monitor works) on top of variable refresh rate panels to improve motion clarity, which provides β€œ4x effective motion clarity” over their native refresh rate.

Besides this new feature, monitors with G-SYNC Pulsar will also support G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Technology, which automatically adjusts brightness and color temperature based on ambient lighting conditions. NVIDIA noted that these monitors are the first G-SYNC displays developed in collaboration with MediaTek, integrating G-SYNC functionality directly into the display scaler without the use of a dedicated module.

In addition to G-SYNC Pulsar displays, NVIDIA confirmed the addition of 63 new G-SYNC Compatible monitors, including a 1,040 Hz gaming monitor from Samsung, the ASUS ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG with a 5K (5120 x 2880) resolution and 180 Hz refresh rate, and new 2026 television models from LG and Samsung.

For the modders utilizing RTX Remix to remaster legacy titles, NVIDIA has brought new stuffs too: scheduled for release later this month through the NVIDIA app, the upcoming RTX Remix update will introduce a new game logic system that allows modders to trigger dynamic visual effects based on in-game events, all without messing with the game engine or even the source code (for example, paranoia effects shows up in game UI when the player is in danger, or triggering snow weather only when the player is outside).
