Okami HD Remaster Officially Announced
After an alleged leak from Famitsu earlier today, Capcom has officially announced the HD remastered version ofΒ Okami, which will be known from this point onwards asΒ Okami HD. Alongside the announcement we get the first trailer, alongside some screenshots of the game.

The game will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in the United States and Europe on December 12th 2017, priced at a pretty affordable USD $19.99. Interestingly, both PS4 and Xbox One will also get a physical release on top of the digital launch, while the PC version will be available only on Steam.

The graphics have been updated to take advantage of modern resolutions, and 4K will be supported on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X and PC.Β OkamiΒ was originally released in 2006 for PS2, and then ported to Wii in 2008 and to PS3 in 2012.

The game, inspired by Japanese folklore and legends, tells the story of the goddess Amaterasu, who travels the land to dispel a curse cast by the eight-headed demon Orochi, accompanied by the artist Issun. Itβs well known for its absolutely charming art style and for the unique gameplay based on the celestial brush mechanic.
InΒ Okami HDΒ players take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess who inhabits the form of a legendary white wolf Shiranui on a quest to defeat Orochi, an eight-headed demon and tyrannical monster responsible for turning the world into a ruined wasteland.
Players must use Amaterasuβs magical abilities and arsenal of items, attacks and Celestial Brush techniques to restore the land of Nippon to its previous glory full of life and color. Along the way, Amaterasu will be called upon to help a cast of quirky and intriguing characters and defeat a bevy of brutal enemies to rid the land of Orochiβs curse.

Interestingly, itβll be possible to toggle between widescreen format or the original releaseβs 4:3 aspect ratio. The Interactive loading screens from the original game on PS2 will also be included, allowing you to earn bonus demon fangs which you can trade for in-game items.
