ASUS Teases New Snapdragon-Powered Laptop, Likely A New Vivobook S
ASUS has begun sending out invites to the public for its upcoming laptop launch β however, this isnβt just any laptop, as the company has mentioned names like Qualcomm and Microsoft, hinting at the presence of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X series SoCs that were recently launched. As such, this will be the Taiwanese laptop makerβs first-ever Qualcomm-powered laptop.
The invitation has provided the time and date for the online reveal, which is set to go live on May 21, 2024, at 02:00 AM (Malaysian Time). While weβre still a couple of weeks away from the launch, the image shown in the invitation β as well as external findings β has given us a few clues on what the laptop is going to look like.
As reported by ITHome, the image file name was conspicuously named βS5507 PR announcement.jpgβ, and it hasnβt changed as we downloaded a copy of the image for this article. You can see it for yourself by heading to this press release, then click the download button on the bottom right corner of the article header image (donβt use the right click and βSave Imageβ option), where itβll reveal the aforementioned file name.
Those familiar with ASUSβs laptop model names will know that this laptop will be part of the Vivobook S family: for reference, βS5506β points to the current-gen, Intel Core Ultra-powered Vivobook S 15 OLED featuring the updated chassis.Β From the image, we guess this laptop will be a 16-inch model β as the rather sizeable trackpad is offset to the left side, commonly seen on laptops 15 inches and above that feature a numeric keypad on the right.
On another note, ASUS says the laptop will also be showcased physically in the upcoming Computex 2024 slated this June, and weβll be there to take a look up close, so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: Looks like there will be no shortage of Snapdragon laptops in this coming Computex.
