realme C55 Officially Launched In Malaysia With βSegment-Leading Featuresβ
It also features βAndroidβs first Mini Capsuleβ, which is equivalent to iPhoneβs Dynamic Island feature.
realme has brought the new C55 to Malaysia, with claimed class-leading features in the price segment. The smartphone features a first-in-class 64MP main sensor (Omnivision OV64B) coupled with a 2MP monochrome sensor; while front facing camera uses an 8MP sensor. The OV64B sensor is claimed to improve 53.8% in βclarity and resolutionβ and features 54% larger sensor size over the predecessor, realme C35.
On the performance side, itβs powered by MediaTek Helio G88 with 8GB (with another 8GB as βextended RAMβ) + 256GB storage configuration, plus 1TB microSD card support, another best-in-class. Display-wise, itβs a 6.72-inch, FHD+ 90Hz panel; the 5,000mAh battery meanwhile can be charged with proprietary 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging tech, with the manufacturer claiming full charge in 63 minutes.
The headlining feature perhaps is the Dynamic Island-lookalike called βMini Capsuleβ. Functionally, itβs the same as iPhoneβs equivalents by extending UI element from the camera punch-hole; though realme says updates are on the way to further enhance that feature. We canβt say if this may take off in other Android smartphones β as this feature is somewhat redundant in the vast nature of Android world.
The realme C55 will come in two storage configurations: 6+128GB and 8+256GB, and two colors available (Sunshower, Rainy Night). The smartphone is set to be available for retail sale starting on 31 March, and preorders are available now β with prices starting from RM699.
Pokdepinion: Iβm still skeptical of that Mini Capsule feature, but I guess weβll see.
