Marvel MMORPG Reportedly In The Works – DC Universe Online Dev Team
Given the huge success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s not a surprise to see its popularity spread to other mediums. If you’ve been craving for a Marvel MMORPG, it might just become a reality. Here’s what you need to know.

Marvel MMORPG Reportedly In The Works
As some of you may know by now, Swedish game holding company EG7 recently acquired Daybreak Game Company, the same developers behind DC Universe Online. During a recent investor’s presentation for Q3 2021, they shared about some of the things they have in the pipeline.
Under a slide with the title “Exciting Product Sale for 2022 and Beyond”, they showed off some of the upcoming games in development, including Lord of the Rings Online, DC Universe Online, and an unannounced MMORPG. On the latter, there were some interesting bullet points, which reads:
- Marvel IP based massively multiplayer online game
- Being developed by Dimensional Ink Studios in Austin, TX
- Led by Jack Emmert, who designed and helmed City of Heroes, and currently leads DCUO
This clearly points toward a Marvel MMORPG, though not much about the game is still known at this point in time. If true, we can expect to hear much more about come 2022. For now, we will report more on this as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: I’m hoping this could be a true, next-generation MMORPG and not a generic one with Marvel skins / abilities. It definitely needs more of an “oomph” if it wants to be successful.
