OPPO Supposedly To Make Their Own Chipset For Smartphones
According to reports, it appears that OPPO is looking to develop their very own SoC for smartphones, specifically for their higher-end series it seems.
OPPO to introduce self-developed chip?
If the report is to be true, the company would be the latest smartphone brand to venture into making their own chip. Of course, this isnβt exactly something new. Recently Google did one of their own by introducing Tensor and of course, Apple, Samsung, and HUAWEI has already their own smartphone chips.
According to the source, it appears that the chip is scheduled for a release in 2023 or 2023 βdepending on the speed of developmentβ and would use TSMCβs 3nm process technology.
As it stands, the company has been using chips made from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Seeing how the company shares supply chain and ownership with OnePlus, vivo, and realme, it wouldnβt be surprising if they shared chips if they do indeed go with the plan of making one.

Pokdepinion: I mean if they do conjure up with something that performs, thereβs still space in the market for more competition. Should they make one, itβd be interesting to see if itβs China-exclusive or something like that.
