Leica Reportedly Looking To Partner Xiaomi And HONOR
Leica has been partnering HUAWEI in developing the brand’s smartphone lens for quite some time now. It appears that the HUAWEI P50 series will be the last devices to be featuring the branding, at least according to ‘inside sources’.
Leica to partner with HONOR and Xiaomi?
The same leakster has said that the company is opening up possibilities of partnering up with a new smartphone OEM as well as Xiaomi. It is said that both HONOR and Sharp are up on that list. We could also see Leica lens’ on all of the brands as well, as seen with ZEISS previously.
There’s no details on the reason to why they are looking for other options but it is possible that the trade ban sanctioned against HUAWEI to be one of the reasons.

Pokdepinion: Leica has featured in a lot of good camera smartphones and it would be a shame if it won’t be featuring in new HUAWEI flagships. On the other hand, it’s understandable to see them venture into other brands.
