ILLEGEAR IONIC TOUCH developed in partnership with Intel arrives from RM4899
ILLEGEAR has just announced the IONIC TOUCH, based on the reference Intel NUC M15 design. The Intel NUC M15 was developed by Intel as a reference for smaller boutique laptop vendors, and it comes packed with pretty much every recent Intel technology you would want in a laptop.
As the ILLEGEAR IONIC TOUCH features the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors, it also comes with niceties like two Thunderbolt 4 ports, WiFi 6 and also support for one M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD. It seems that ILLEGEAR isn’t currently offering PCIe 4.0 SSDs as a customization option just yet, but you can always get a M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD elsewhere and upgrade your laptop to enjoy the sweet 7GB/s+ speeds.
Aside from the 11th Gen Intel Core platform, the ILLEGEAR IONIC TOUCH is also rather unique with a 15.6″ FHD display. Most ultraportables today come with a 14″ display, so the IONIC TOUCH will offer more viewing area than most of the laptops in its weight class. The display can be opened up to 180° for a more convenient collaborative experience with the people around you, and there’s also support for 10-point touch input. It doesn’t fold around to transform it into a tablet though.
Speaking of input, the keyboard is an ultra-tactile keyboard with white backlighting, and you can also use Alexa. All of that is powered by a 73WHr battery inside the 1.66kg chassis that’s hewn out of anodized aluminium. You can check out the base specifications of the IONIC TOUCH below:
