The new WhatsApp terms and conditions for users has caused a stir in the community, where it has left people concerned that their chats would be observed. It has caused a lot of users to move on to other messaging platforms. While it was scheduled for a release on the 8th of February, it was then delayed due to the concern. If you’re wondering what will happen if you don’t agree to the terms, WhatsApp has given their answer.

Should you refuse to agree to the new terms after 15th of May 2021, it appears that you will still be able to receive calls and notifications on the platform. Despite that, you will not be able to read or send messages, which is pretty much useless.
It’s unknown of what will happen afterwards but the company does have a policy of deleting accounts that has gone inactive for 120 days. It is possible that will they will deem you inactive if you haven’t been messaging or utilizing the app as you would normally do.
As you might have already know, Facebook has acquired WhatsApp for quite some time now. People have been assuming that the new terms would give Facebook their metadata but truth be told, they have been doing it for years now.
