Logitech acquires Jaybird for around $50 million in cash
Logitech has been a growing from strength to strength.Β In July 2015 they announced a new minimalistic logo,Β and now they are alsoΒ buying Jaybird, a company renowned for great sports audio equipment. This is actually the second audio equipment company under Logitech, as they have already acquired Ultimate Ears way back in 2008.
The Swiss company is acquiring Jaybird forΒ $50 million in cash, with an additional earn-out of up to $45 millionΒ based on achievement of growth targets over the next two years. Similar to Ultimate Ears, Jaybird will remain an independent subsidiary of Logitech and continue designing, and selling, what they know best; premium wireless audio for sports.
Judd Armstrong, founder and chief executive officer of Jaybird, said, βIt has been anΒ incredibleΒ journey.Β We love what we do, and weβre stoked to continue to innovate and bring amazing newΒ products to our fans. Jaybird will benefit from Logitechβs global distribution network and deepΒ engineering prowess. Weβve watched as theyβve connected incredible products with passionateΒ consumers under the UE brand, and weβre thrilled to be part of the team.β

Pokdepinion: I wonder if we will see Ultimate Ears working together with Jaybird to bring us their next generation of wireless sports audio equipment, because that will be great, eventhough I am not a fan of sports in particular.
