Instagram Follows Suit Amidst Facebook Controversy β Users Will Be Able To Download Data
Instagram will be following Facebookβs footsteps in letting their users have the ability to download their data locally. This isnβt surprising as the application itself is owned by Facebook.
Instagram Lets Users Download Personal Data
While previously, we wrote on Facebook doing the same thing (you can click here to check on that one out), now it seems that Instagram is following suit. This was let out by an Instagram spokesperson, meaning you will soon be able to download a copy of what youβve shared on the application (that includes photos, videos, and also messages) or simply want to backup your photos before you delete your account.
With the feature, it certainly will help users should they ever decided to leave Instagram and yet still will be able to keep all those precious memories with them.
Currently, there are no ways for you to save photos on the application. The only solution is for you to either screenshot and crop it or find a third party app that can do the job.
There has been no confirmation on what Instagram will officially let you download though, Itβs still unknown whether youβll be only able to save photos, videos, and messages only or you would have the option to save more than that (followers, following list, stories, and etc). Despite that, the option to save your photos and videos is a highly welcomed addition to say the least.

Pokdepinion: It doesnβt come to a surprise for me, seeing the controversy surrounding Facebook previously. Well at least they are doing something about it to give a sight of whatβs happening to users and their data. What do you think of this step taken by Instagram? Will it change much? As usual, you can drop your opinions and thoughts on the comment section down below.
