AmBank Group and Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) have announced support for Apple Pay transactions using AmBank debit cards on the MyDebit network, enabling domestic payments to be processed through Malaysia’s national payment infrastructure.
AmBank Now On Apple Pay

AmBank had previously introduced Apple Pay support for its credit cards, so the latest announcement is focusing on its support for debit cardholders. Users can add their AmBank debit cards through the Wallet app or via the AmOnline app; once added, the associated devices are ready to make payments. Existing rewards and benefits associated with AmBank cards continue to apply when using this payment method.
In case you aren’t aware, Apple Pay allows users to make payments in-store, within apps and online through supported Apple devices by using NFC for the handshake process, and biometrics for the security side of things. It also enables payments without requiring repeated entry of card or personal details such as billing address and CVV code, so the entire payment process is designed to be as frictionless as possible.
In conjunction with the launch, AmBank is introducing a limited-time cashback program for MyDebit users who make Apple Pay transactions. Customers who meet the minimum transaction requirement of RM30 per transactions for three transactions within a month are eligible for one-time RM30 cashback, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
