Ever heard of networking hardware designed for creators? Well, ASUS has two new models which fit that exact description. The new ProArt Router PRT-BE5000 and ProArt Switch PQG-U1080 are, according to its words, envisioned to β€œbuild a more complete studio infrastructure for creators.”

Starting with the ProArt Router PRT-BE5000 – this new dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router is rated with up to 5000Mbps throughput (4320Mbps via 5GHz, 688Mbps via 2.4GHz), while wired I/O involves one 2.5GbE WAN, one 2.5GbE LAN, and three 1GbE LAN ports. Perhaps the main reason why a ProArt router existed in the first place is the β€œcreator-first adaptive QoE,” as it will prioritize things like file transfers, online collaborative work, and streaming workloads. Basically, same principle as how gaming routers work.

Next, we have the ProArt Switch PQG-U1080 focusing on wired setups. It’s got eight 2.5GbE ports onboard alongside two 10GbE SFP+ ports for high-speed connections demanded by workstations, NAS systems, and access points using existing CAT5e cables. The switch chassis supports multiple installation options, including desktop placement, table-leg mounting, and magnetic attachment, to fit different workspace setups.

ASUS stated that availability and pricing for the ProArt Router PRT-BE5000 and ProArt Switch PQG-U1080 in Malaysia will be announced at a later date.

Pokdepinion: That’s a surprising one. Does being β€œcreator-focused” matter in the context of networks though?
