Thereβs more Razer products with RGB than Razer products without RGB, so when it officially enters the competition of ergonomic keyboards, you bet it has RGB slapped on it. Case in point: the new Razer Pro Type Ergo wireless keyboard.
Razer Pro Type Ergo

When it comes to ergonomics, thereβs basically not much leeway in terms of shape and sizes given that human body doesnβt really change that much for thousands of years. So itβs only natural that Razer Pro Type Ergo adopts a split layout with slightly angled keys on both sides, along with a hump between them to give your wrists the best position possible β very important for avoiding repetitive stress injuries (RSI).
The keyboard feature a 10-degree base slope for its hump, while articulation involves 4 and 7 degree-tilt in both forward and rearward positions; a built-in wrist rest, naturally, is a given. In terms of keyboard layout, Razerβs answer to the complex ergonomic equation includes dual space keys, dual βBβ keys, and a secondary backspace key located in between both space keys, so you donβt need to move your wrists all the way to the top right to correct typos.

Unlike its usual gaming keyboards, the Pro Type Ergo instead uses low-profile scissor-style membrane switch with a concave surface to βreduce finger movement and effortβ, while sound-dampening layers and tuned stabilizers are included to minimize typing noise. For its RGB lighting, you donβt get the per-key RGB like youβd get in the Blackwidows or Huntsmans, instead youβre given controls to 19 lighting zones configurable via Razer Synapse software.
Continuing the theme of productivity focus, youβll find five macro keys on the left, while the Fn keys are primarily focused on the features that youβd use in the office setting (though some of those are definitely focused primarily on macOS systems). Youβll find two control dials occupying both corners, plus thereβs a dedicated βAI Prompt Masterβ button (of course) to access the namesake app for generating and summarizing texts.
The Razer Pro Type Ego supports 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth (up to 3 devices), and USB-C wired mode, with support for up to five simultaneous connections. The onboard rechargeable battery is rated for up to three months of βtypical office use.β You can get one right now at RM829 via Razerβs website, retail stores, and selected partners.
