Shenzhen-based PC components maker COLORFUL recently announced two new motherboards – the iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W and iGame Z890M ULTRA Z motherboards – to tag alongside Intel’s new Core Ultra 200S Plus series processors. Similar to its graphics card that bear the same series name, both feature white-pink designs, with the ULTRA Z model in particular also adopting the new BTF 3.0 cable-less standard.

COLORFUL Introduces iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W And iGame Z890M ULTRA Z Motherboards

The COLORFUL iGame Z890 ULTRA-S W mimics the design from the company’s ULTRA W series of RTX 50 graphics cards, featuring all-white color (including connectors) with hip-hop style neon pink accents. It says the new model also features some upgrades over the preceding ULTRA model, including a new VRM cooling system with a heat pipe and airflow channel design, as well as quick-release mechanisms for the primary PCIe slot and M.2 heatsinks to simplify installation.

That said, it sticks to the same 20+1+1+1 phase VRM design with 90A per powerstage, so it should handle even the most demanding Core Ultra processors with little issues. Besides that, DDR5 memory supported is rated up to 9600 MT/s – upgraded from ULTRA’s 8800 MT/s – with a maximum supported capacity of 256GB. As a full-size ATX motherboard, it has the space to fit five SSD slots (1x PCIe 5.0 x4, 4x PCIe 4.0 x4), along with three PCIe slots (PCIe 5.0 x16 + PCIe 4.0 x1 + PCIe 4.0 x4). You’ll also find a pair of USB4 ports and 5GbE LAN on its rear I/O.

Meanwhile, the COLORFUL iGame Z890M ULTRA Z is perhaps the more interesting of the two. Since it adopts the new BTF 3.0 connector standard, you won’t find any headers at the front; instead, most connectors are placed behind, while power delivery connections like EPS, ATX 24-pin and 12V-2Γ—6 are all grouped up into a 50-pin cable-less CRPS connector that also relocates the power supply to the right side of the motherboard. The standard also consolidates multiple front panel connections into a single dedicated zone on the bottom-left edge of its rear, which further reduces cable clutter.

The Z890M ULTRA Z’s specs are relatively modest, with a 14+1+1+1 phase VRM featuring 60A powerstages, four memory slots supporting up to 192GB total capacity (48GB per slot) with overclocking support up to 8400 MT/s, whereas expansion involves four M.2 slots (1x PCIe 5.0 x4, 4x PCIe 4.0 x4) and two PCIe slots (one PCIe 5.0 x16, and one PCIe 4.0 x4). For its I/O, it features 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, but no USB4/Thunderbolt connections are to be found here.
