While Intel has brought the updated Core Ultra 200S Plus series processors earlier this month, ASUS has bucked the trend this time with no new motherboards to tag along. Instead, the company will provide BIOS updates to all of its existing Intel 800 series motherboards to support the new chips, which includes the new Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.
ASUS Announces BIOS Updates For Intel 800 Motherboards

The BIOS updates will apply across ASUS motherboard segments, including Pro WS workstation models, ROG Maximus and ROG Strix gaming boards, TUF Gaming series, ProArt creator-focused boards and budget ASUS Prime lineup, across Z890, W880, Q870, B860, and H810-based models.
For maximum bragging rights, ASUS also broke a few benchmarking records using the ROG Maximus Z890 Apex motherboard paired with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor and G.SKILL Trident Z DDR5 memory. Among those include four world records in 3DMark CPU Profile tests (1-thread, 2-thread, 4-thread, and 8-thread), as well as the highest recorded CPU-Z frequency for the Intel Arrow Lake platform at 7647MHz.

Additional benchmark results included a global first place in Intel XTU and several hardware first-place rankings across benchmarking tools such as Cinebench (including R11.5, R15, R20, R23, and 2024 versions), Geekbench 3 and 7-Zip. These results were achieved by overclockers Clemens βCENSβ NΓΌssler, and Jon βElmorβ SandstrΓΆm using the specified hardware configuration.
Pokdepinion: A bit surprised ASUS didnβt launch anything new this time.
