ASUS has been very busy dropping teasers left and right, but this one is particularly interesting β the company has announced what looks to be a refresh to its AMD 800 series motherboards for CES 2026, with its new βNEOβ branding functioning similarly to MSIβs refreshed βMAXβ series motherboards.
ASUS βNEOβ Motherboard Refresh

Based on the short video released on ROGβs YouTube channel, the new βNEOβ branding will cover ROG Crosshair (one with display on top of VRM heatsink), ROG Strix (primarily features pixelated art), TUF Gaming, and ProArt models; the video ends with a short message that says: βNEO motherboards are coming.β

We spotted a two interesting features shown in this clip, including vapor chamber cooling on a motherboardβs primary M.2 heatsink based on the markings, as well as integrated pogo pins for AIO coolers (labeled AIO_POGO next to Socket AM5), presumably to remove the last bit of cables away from the front side of the motherboard. Itβs possible that this is another feature for the rear-connector BTF variant, on top of the cable-less GPU design on existing models.
At the same time, this refresh will likely coincide with the expected launch of AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processors, both of which have been spotted in the wild by now. Besides those, itβs possible that this refresh will bring more features similar to MSIβs PBO BCLK Booster, EXPO 1.2 / CUDIMM support, or even in preparation for Zen 6 architecture. Weβll know more details when ASUS reveals them all next week.
Pokdepinion: AIO pogo pins? I like where this is going.
