Despite Microsoftβs intentions in turning Windows into an βagentic OSβ, a good chunk of Windows populace doesnβt entertain the idea that everything must revolve around the hottest two-letter word in the tech industry. Given the admittedly excessive presence of AI features like Copilot and Recall, developer βzoicwareβ has made a script on GitHub that wipes them them all from the face of Windows 11, should users wish to do so.
Making Windows 11 AI-Free

This tool is called βRemove Windows AIβ, and itβs a simple PowerShell script that simply operates from a single command taken from its GitHub page. Youβre then immediately presented with a list of options on what to disable, then clicking Apply to make changes. This will take several minutes and a system reboot to complete, but once done, you wonβt be seeing any AI features getting in your way anymore.
Itβs all pretty simple β and if you have questions on what each function does, simply hover your mouse to the β?β icon which provides the relevant explanation. If you change your mind, you can activate the βRevert Modeβ to restore any functionality that got disabled; if you want to play extra safe, thereβs also a backup option (which we recommend doing, just in case).
While most of the AI features can be disabled through this simple process, some do require manual intervention, according to the creator. These include Gaming Copilot (which actively sees what you do in-game by default), OneDrive AI, and Windows Studio Effects. Disabling them usually involves finding the setting involved and flip the switches off. In case Microsoft adds new AI features down the line, the creator says those will be covered once they enter the mainline release.
Pokdepinion: Do appreciate the devs who went out of the way to create tools like this, giving power back to the users.
