JBL Bar MK2 Series Soundbars Launched With Five Models Available

JBL has brought in new soundbars under the self-explanatory Bar Series for the Malaysian market, with five new ‘MK2’ models built around enhanced audio processing, improved connectivity, and a redesigned form factor, with a range of output power to choose from.

JBL’s new lineup incorporates MultiBeam 3.0 technology to create a surround sound experience from a single soundbar and supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, with certain models featuring detachable rear speakers to extend spatial audio coverage. There’s the new SmartDetails feature developed to capture subtle audio elements, along with AI Sound Boost that enhances low-frequency output in demanding scenes, while maintaining clarity at higher volumes; also, PureVoice 2.0 is responsible for improved vocal reproduction.

The flagship JBL Bar 1300MK2 is equipped with dual 8-inch subwoofer drivers, six up-firing drivers and detachable wireless speakers that can be positioned behind the listener for an expanded surround effect, or used independently via Bluetooth for music playback in other areas of the home. Alongside the flagship model, JBL also debuts its One Commander wireless Dolby Atmos hub that allows the Bar 1300MK2 to wirelessly connect to most televisions and projectors that support HDMI ARC or eARC.

For smaller or mid-sized rooms, the Bar 1000MK2 uses two up-firing drivers, a 10-inch subwoofer, and detachable rear speakers; the Bar 800MK2 includes detachable surround speakers but does away with overhead channels, while the Bar 500MK2 and Bar 300MK2 are positioned as options for users seeking an entry-level or apartment-friendly system with support for the core features of the updated series.
