Games With DLSS 3 Can Be Replaced With FSR 3 For Unsupported GPUs With This Mod

NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 is quite a powerful thing – it’s capable of doing frame generation that massively boosts framerates for games that support it. However, hardware support for this feature is highly limited, given that only the latest RTX 40 series can utilize this feature, leaving GPUs from other vendors, or older GPUs from Team Green themselves, left behind.

AMD’s solution, FSR 3, fixes just that – however, support for FSR 3 in games is relatively small compared to DLSS 3’s roster, but it has an advantage that DLSS 3 doesn’t: being open-source. So, modder Nukem9 has decided to take this opportunity to enable frame generation for games that come with DLSS 3, but not with AMD’s equivalents available. The mod has already shown its presence in games like The Last of Us Part I, Dead Space remake, and Cyberpunk 2077. If all goes well, this means gamers with GPUs outside of NVIDIA’s latest and greatest will have access to similar technology that the RTX 40 users get to enjoy, without having to upgrade their GPUs. Granted, mods may not be the better implementation than officially supporting it from the developers themselves, but it’s better than nothing nevertheless.
