Audio Recordings In WhatsApp Can Now Be Set To “View Once”
One of the features from WhatsApp is called ‘View Once‘, and it’s designed for messages of a more discreet nature. Recipients will only be able to view the photo or videos once before it’s deleted – and now the app is adding audio recordings to the list as well.
WhatsApp says you can do things like “reading out your credit card details to a friend” (we don’t recommend doing this), or provide any sensitive information through the View Once audio recording, which will be marked as such. Of course, that doesn’t stop anyone from recording the phone speakers from another device, so don’t send anything sensitive over the app unless you know what you’re doing.
As usual, the messages will come end-to-end encrypted – WhatsApp says the feature will begin global rollout “over the coming days.”
