GX Bank Berhad has officially launched its app, marking a significant step in its journey to become Malaysiaβs first digital bank. GXBank CEO, Pei Si Lai, highlighted the positive feedback from beta testers and the introduction of βPockets,β a savings goal feature aligning with Malaysiansβ desire to save more, as revealed in the RinggitPlus Malaysian Financial Literacy Survey 2023.
He said: βSince we commenced operations in September 2023, we have tested our app to thousands of beta testers, almost 50% have created βPocketsβ β the appβs savings goal feature. Emergencies, holidays and investments are the top three reasons our customers are saving for. Following the months of testing amongst GXBank internal staff, shareholders, partners and selected Malaysians, we feel optimistic and encouraged to now expand to the rest of Malaysia.β

Moving forward, GXBank plans to roll out additional features, including the GX Card, as the βonly physical manifestation that customers can proudly keep in their pocketsβ.
The GX Card, a collaboration with Mastercard, offers various rewards such as unlimited 1% cashback, zero markups on all foreign transactions, RM1 waiver on all MEPS ATM nationwide, and unique designs differentiating it in customersβ wallets.
Licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia, GXBank ensures deposit protection up to RM250,000 per depositor, adhering to regulatory standards. The app encourages a saving habit with 3% p.a. daily interest in main accounts or βPockets,β serving diverse saving purposes.
