Another Windows 11 Update Breaks Things, This Time Itβs AMD Software
Windows is a very big operating system with lots of devices running on it β so things can break, it happens. That said, that didnβt stop Microsoftβs OS from having issues ranging from bizarre glitches to system-breaking bugs, and this time the victim of a rogue Windows 11 update is landed straight on AMDβs GPU control panel (AMD Software, as it is called). Itβs being reported by multiple users on AMDβs forums.
The offending update is labeled KB5030310 β which, if installed, may cause AMD Software to no longer save its app settings every reboot. Thankfully, this reset bug doesnβt affect the actual hardware itself, though certain features such as HYPR-RX, Anti-Lag and such may not immediately work right away (unless you turn them on manually on every boot). If youβve never touched any of these features, thereβs a good chance it wonβt affect your usage in any meaningful way.
For those who did get affected however, you can chose to uninstall the offending patch through Settings. That said, users has found a temporary workaround that involves disabling Copilot through command line tools.
In any case, itβs a minor inconvenience β a future patch from either Microsoft or AMD should hopefully solve this issue. You can read here on the details of Microsoftβs patch, which mainly consists of bugfixes of various features around Windows 11.

Pokdepinion: Unfortunate, though at least itβs a fairly benign glitch.Β
