PALITβs RTX 4060 GPU Comes With A Physically Shorter PCIe Connector
Virtually all GPUs you see these days comes with a full size x16 PCIe connector regardless of which part of the segment it belongs to. However, Palit took something of an unusual route β since RTX 4060 is only electrically connected to 8 lanes (with PCIe 4.0 protocol), the AIB decided to cut the connector size in half, likely to save materials and waste.
This occurred to two of Palitβs RTX 4060 lineup, namely the DUAL and single-fan StormX model. Palit often sits on the low end of pricing spectrum as far as AIBs go, so cost cutting is potentially high up in the companyβs list especially in the times where profit margins for NVIDIA GPUs gets ever thinner, which EVGA famously quit its GPU business for. That said, donβt expect the thermals to be great, as revealed by various reviews.
Twitter user fpsojisan_yt took this photo of the PCIe interface showing the Palit cardβs rather tiny connectors:

Pokdepinion: I wonder how would the GPU be taken out now that it doesnβt come in contact with the tab?
