Samsung 990 PRO SSD Now Available In Malaysia
The semiconductor giant’s latest high performance SSD is now available nationwide.
The updated in-house controller now powers the 990 PRO to PCIe 4.0’s maximum throughput, with read/write speeds rated at 7,450MB/s and 6,900MB/s respectively. Random I/O performance is rated at 1,400,000 IOPS read and 1,550,000 IOPS for write; amounting to 55% improvement on random I/O over the preceding 980 PRO SSD.
Samsung also makes improvements on power efficiency – up to 50% as the company claimed. The nickel-coated controller, paired with heat spreader provides cooling, thermal management is handled by Dynamic Thermal Guard technology. The 990 PRO also provides heatsink as an option, which also contains RGB lights.
Two storage capacities will be offered – 1TB and 2TB; both models are now available on participating Samsung Authorized Dealers across Malaysia.
