Microsoft Pushes Ads in Windows 11 Start Menu Of All Places
Ads, we all hate them. Not Microsoftβ¦ they are very keen to serve you with all kinds of ads in all places you wouldnβt necessarily imagine. This time itβs the Start Menu of Windows 11 β specifically, the user options.
Twitter user Albacore spotted this in their Windows 11 PC:
Of course this is not the first time Microsoft has been testing waters on where to place their ads on just to push Windows users deeper into their ecosystem β the venerable File Explorer was once a receiving end of that. While this is arguably less in-your-face unlike the notification popups or even full-blown full-screen message telling you to sign up to OneDrive β itβs still very much an ad that just takes a more βsubliminal messagingβ approach.

Some other users has not seen this popping in their PCs so far, so itβs likely a small-scale test from Microsoft to see the response from its users.
