This is Why Bill Gates Prefers Android Over iOS
The debate of Android and iOS has been seen and heard for many years now, and everyone has their own preference. However, itβs always interesting to hear about the preference of notable figures. In the case of Bill Gates, hereβs why he prefers Android over iOS.
This is Why Bill Gates Prefers Android Over iOS
NY Times and CNBC journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin interviewed Bill Gates via Clubhouse recently. From there, we learned that his preference hasnβt changed and it remains to be Android over iOS, but he does use both.
Bill Gates said he prefers the Google ecosystem because βSome of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me and theyβre more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system so thatβs what Iβve ended up getting used to.β He still does use an iPhone to be up-to-date with everything other activities, like using Clubhouse as it is an iOS-exclusive.
Previously, Bill Gates said that his greatest mistake was losing to Google in the mobile space as he believes its a natural area for Microsoft to win. He feels that there is a space for one non-Apple OS and that is now worth USD $400 billion. As for which companies he believes are doing the most exciting work, he named Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, and Facebook as his top choices.
But, in terms of really pushing the boundaries of computer science and architecture and AI, Iβd say Google and Microsoft have a strong R&D commitment β both stuff they share openly and things they focus on for their own products.
