We got our hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S25 but before we publish the review, have a taste of it with our unboxing and first impressions.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Unboxing

Kicking off the Samsung Galaxy S25 with an unboxing, it comes in a similar packaging as its predecessor last year. If anything, the difference is only in the picture of the device, this time with a 45Β° angled side profile just like its Ultra brethren. Itβs minimalistic in design as usual and there seems to be no changes in its dimensions. Inside the box, we found the following items:

- USB-C to USB-C cable
- SIM ejector pin
- Documentations
- The Samsung Galaxy S25 itself
First Impressions

For our review unit, we received the Pinkgold color option, which I actually do like more than the Ultraβs colorways in general as it looks more lively. With that being said, it looks neither pink nor gold to me as it looks rather orange in most cases from my perspective. Iβm a bigger fan of the Icyblue and Coralred colors but Pinkgold does look a tad bit classier. Itβs also worth noting that this Pinkgold colorway is online-exclusive alongside Coralred and Blueblack. The ones available everywhere are Navy, Icyblue, Mint, and Silver Shadow.
While it looks mostly the same as its predecessor, it is slightly smaller and lighter than its predecessor. You wonβt notice it until you hold it, and youβd definitely notice the weight difference at first before everything else kicks in. To give you a clearer idea, itβs 0.4mm thinner, 0.1mm shorter, and 0.1mm narrower while being 5 grams lighter. If youβre looking for a flagship smartphone with a focus on small sizes, this should be among the top in your list this year.

Just because the size got a little bit smaller doesnβt mean the display shrank in size. In fact, itβs the same as last yearβs S24; a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and peak brightness of 2600 nits. The fact that itβs unchanged doesnβt mean itβs bad as itβs a pretty great screen. My only wish was that they included Gorilla Armor across the entire lineup just for the anti-reflective properties, but hey, maybe next year.
As usual, the Samsung Galaxy S25 gets the latest Qualcomm flagship chip, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, specifically fine-tuned for Samsungβs devices, and it does introduce AI improvements. The most tangible improvement you can experience is that you donβt have to fully rely on Galaxy AI as it has improved integration for Googleβs Gemini AI. Samsung also claims that its thermals have improved over its predecessor but given the new chip, itβs hard to say if it will work well enough. Weβll put it to the test and see how it fares in the final, in-depth review.
